From 28 February to 1 March 2023 an ecumenical spring conference of the KRBU and the KLT took place in the Retreat House Leitershofen on the topic "The CRU in Lower Saxony - Impulses for the further development of RE in Bavaria?
Many outstanding experts made clear from different perspectives that the CRU in Lower Saxony can be a source of inspiration for the reorientation of RE in Bavaria. The following contributions laid the foundation for a constructive academic exchange between the members of the KLT and the CRU:
- "Jointly Responsible Christian Religious Education in Lower Saxony. Background, consultation process and perspectives" (Dr Kerstin Gäfgen-Track, Federation of Protestant Churches in Lower Saxony, Hanover; Dr Winfried Verburg, Department for Schools and Universities in the Episcopal General Vicariate of the Diocese of Osnabrück);
- "Academic Theology and the Future of Religious Education. Opportunities, dangers and challenges of a CRU" (Prof. Dr Christian Polke, Dean of Studies of the Faculty of Theology at the Georg-August University Göttingen);
- Short thematic statements by Carolin Lochner (Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg), Dr Eva Leven (Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg), Prof. Dr Manfred L. Pirner (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg) and Prof. Dr Mirjam Schambeck sf (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München).
