Your Library Card

For students

For all KU students the KU.Card also serves as library card for the University Library. This library card is valid for one semester.

Please note: You will find your library user number (027…) on the back of your KU.Card.

Your password is preset to the day and month of your birthday in a 4-digit number sequence in the format DDMM. E.g.: If your birthday is May 12th, your password is 1205. You can change this password in your library account at any time.

For guests and interested persons

The University Library Eichstätt-Ingolstadt is open to all guests and interested persons outside the university.

You can get a library card at the lending desk of the Main Library in Eichstätt or the Branch Library in Ingolstadt. Please use the possibility to apply for your library card in advance using the online form. You will be notified by email as soon as your card is available. You can collect it within for weeks.

You will need the following information to issue or collect your card:

• A valid identity card or passport
• For citizens of other countries a valid passport or residence permit in conjunction with proof of residence in Germany is required
• Minor library users (admission from 16 years of age is possible) also need the declaration of consent of their parents

You have the choice between two card functions:

• library cards without a credit function are issued free of charge
• library cards with a credit function cost a fee of EUR 4.50 (does not include a credit balance)

In addition to its function as library card, you can load credit on this card to use it for scanning, copying and printing at the University Library and other KU locations. It also allows cashless payment in the canteen and the cafeteria in Eichstätt.
