Carrels

Would you like to write your thesis in peace? Then you can rent a carrel (study booth) in the Main Library.

Students writing a postdoctoral thesis, dissertation, or master’s thesis can occupy one of the carrels for three months, store study materials and books there, and also borrow books from the reference collection. If you need more time, there's an option to extend the rental.
Due to high demand, interested parties may initially be placed on a waiting list. Please apply for your carrel using the form:

Reading room lockers and mobile pedestals

Tired of carrying your documents back and forth to the library and home every time?
In the reading rooms of the Main Library and the Departmental Library Aula, KU members can reserve a reading room locker; at Departmental Library Ulmer Hof mobile pedestals are available in the reading room. Use this option to leave books and study materials in the library for an extended period. Both lockers and pedestals can be used free of charge for 3 months, with the option to extend.
