Apply Now for Summer Semester 2023 Master Course: "Innovation Immersion in Retail"

(5 ECTS, Elective for Master BWL)

This unique, immersive Master's course is by application only (15 spots available). This block-course (4 days in Bologna, and 4 days in Ingolstadt) is designed to equip students with the knowledge, deep understanding, and critical thinking skills, required to analyze retail innovation in today’s age. The unique course is in collaboration with the University of Bologna - Bologna Business School, currently ranked as the # 2 Business School in Italy. The course actively involves the “Retail Observatory on Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bologna (in collaboration with the Retail Institute, Italy), and its company participants.

Last Year's Class and Video - Summer Semester 2022

We took 15 Master Students from WFI and 15 Students from Bologna Business School (University of Bologna), all of them selected after a competitive application process, and provided them an unforgettable, Immersive experience in a unique course on Innovation in Retail. The “Innovation Immersion in Retail” course consists of four intensive days in Ingolstadt (May 19-22, 2022), and four intensive days in Bologna (June 16-19, 2022). 

In each of these two legs of the immersion, students get to visit cutting-edge companies and start-ups in Retail, meet and hear from industry leaders, participate in interactive class sessions on campus, work on “live” challenges and exercises, present their work, and network with their international peers.  In Ingolstadt, students got exposure to MediaMarktSaturn, BestSecret, multiple start-ups in Plug-n-Play (Retail and Brand in Munich), visited KU’s beautiful campus in Eichstätt, worked on a “live” exercise at Ingolstadt Village (outlets), and enjoyed each other’s company during networking receptions and Biergarten visits.
