Several Ph.D. students and Prof. Fontaine presented at the Odysseus workshop in Carmona

At the triennial Odysseus workshop on freight transportation and logistics, several ongoing research projects have been presented. Johannes Gückel gave a talk on “A large neighborhood search for tactical planning in cooperative two-tier city logistics systems”. Alexander Rave presented an efficient metaheuristic for the placement of micro-depots for cargo bike routing problems. Prof. Fontaine introduced a new exact method for solve large-scale multi-stage stochastic programs. Further, Janosch Ortmann (UQAM in Montreal) presented the work of Daniel Müllerklein on machine learning approaches for transportation planning under cost uncertainty.
