On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, Dr. Simon Strick was a guest in our class on “Fascism in American Literature and Culture.” Dr. Strick conducted a workshop with the students on radical online meme culture and neo-fascist ideology, particularly in light of the current US administration’s policies and public communication.
The workshop began with an engaging introduction into the intricate meaning-making logics of meme culture and concluded with a discussion with the students with a particular focus on the importance of critically engaging with digital culture in the American studies classroom.
