The degree program curriculum focuses on areas involving specific political and social challenges as well as on current insights into flight and migration studies: Students will learn about historical and social conditions in the area of flight and migration and acquire knowledge on roles and relationships between different players, the interdependence of regional and global structures as well as on economic and sociocultural processes. The course of study also addresses legal aspects and topic areas such as education and family, mental health and social issues and media and the public.
The standard length of the full-time program is four semesters. It is also possible to complete the degree program in part time. In this case, the study time is extended accordingly. Students can also integrate international study visits or internship stays abroad into their studies. Graduates have excellent career prospects in public authorities and municipalities, chambers, church and welfare organizations, companies, media, foundations, NGOs, education institutions and in research.
The Master’s program “Flight, Migration, Society” offers 25 study places per year and starts in the winter semester. The study places are allocated in an aptitude process. Prospective students can apply for the admission procedure until July 15.
