With its new degree program, the KU is one of very few universities in Germany to offer a Master’s degree program in tourism. The program combines aspects from the fields of business and economics, economic geography and human geography with a social-science focus. This combination makes the program unique in the field of tourism and regional development both on a national and international level.
The curriculum includes the acquisition of fundamental planning skills and imparts knowledge and specialization in economics, business administration and human/economic geography; and the practical implementation of such knowledge in the fields of tourism development and spatial and regional planning. In addition, students have the chance to complete an internship and attend courses with a practical orientation.
The modules in the second semester of this Master’s degree program are offered in English at the KU’s international partner universities. Students also have the option of completing their studies as a double degree program in collaboration with Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica (Slovakia) and Oulu (Finland).
Everybody who is interested in the degree program is welcome to attend the information event on Monday, June 17, at the KU. The program offers 25 places per year and the application deadline is July 1. For further information on the degree program, please visit www.ku.de/tourismus-und-nachhaltige-regionalentwicklung
