Panel at the DGfA: “Formed Under Pressure: Kinship and the Planetary Technosphere”

Our research assistant and lecturer, Maxine Broich, in collaboration with Laura Cwalina from the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (HHU), successfully organized a panel at the DGfA (German Association for American Studies) in Münster.

The panel focused on how the planetary technosphere functions as the backbone for forming kinship in extreme environments. The panelists brought together an intriguing three-way constellation, combing fossil fuel, the oceanic abyss, and outer space.

A big thank you to Kylie Crane, Burak Sezer, and Jens Temmen for their thought-provoking papers, and to all other participants for the engaging discussion that followed.
