Following Immanuel Wallerstein’s world-systems theory, the seminar will explore Spanish media’s construction of the Latin American immigrant as neocolonialnarratives that reproduce the notion of European supremacy vis-à-vis the alleged backwardness of Latin American
countries and its peoples.
