The KU sets up a funding program for female professors and female academic staff. With the help of financial resources made available to the university through the Federal Government's Women Professorship Program, three lines of support are established at the KU that benefit women in science and research.

Under funding line 1 "Support after the birth of a child by student assistants", female professors and female academic staff who return to their jobs after the birth of a child from maternity or parental leave will receive support from student assistants upon request.

Funding line 2 creates additional childcare options. A budget for the creation of childcare services for important university events and conferences that take place at the KU is set up. In addition, a holiday program for the children of students and employees is to be established - especially for school holidays during the lecture period. On application, additional costs for childcare and accommodation for conference trips by female professors and research assistants can also be covered if the children are taken along on the trip.

Funding line 3 comprises a strategic fund for measures in the field of equality. 7500 euros per year are available for such projects. The funded measures should aim to develop innovative and sustainable projects to promote gender equality.
