A 14-member delegation of representatives from Thai universities visited the KU to learn more about the German higher education system. The trip of the delegation from Thailand had started the day before with a visit to the Technical University of Munich. The second stop on their itinerary was the KU.

After a guided tour around campus, Prof. Dr. Klaus Stüwe, Vice President for International Affairs and Profile Development at the KU, officially welcomed the representatives – and immediately asked why the delegation had chosen the KU in addition to TU Munich. A good choice, according to Stüwe, because the KU is really special: "The KU is the only Catholic University not only in Germany, but also in the German-speaking world."

"Thailand is currently undergoing economic and social change", said the leader of the delegation, Prof. Dr. Perapong Tekasakul. "We are expected to make our contribution in these times. That is why we are here: We want to learn from best practice."

The members of the delegation had ample opportunity to do so during an extensive Q&A session. At the end, Prof. Dr. Stüwe and Prof. Dr. Tekasakul exchanged guest gifts. Visibly satisfied, the delegation said goodbye – the KU is the only University besides the Technical University in Munich that the representatives from Thailand will visit. On Friday, they already return to Thailand.
