Students from 18 countries take part in KU Summer School

Since last weekend, the KU has been hosting 45 visiting students from 18 different countries. They are participants of the international Summer School, organized by the Language Center and the International Office of the KU. On Monday evening, the guests were welcomed in the Residenz building by the Deputy County Mayor Bernhard Sammiller and the Head Mayor of Eichstätt Josef Grienberger.

The KU has been hosting its Summer School for 40 years - only in 2020 it had to be canceled due to the pandemic. The program includes language courses and seminars in particular. Students can choose from three modules depending on their language level: “Survival German” for students with near to no German language skills, “Understanding Bavaria and Germany” with a focus on regional studies, and “German Literature in Film”, a program for students with a good knowledge of German. Additionally there are workshops for summer school participants such as pronunciation, scenic play, German popsongs or community music. One excursion will take the visiting students to Bamberg, another one to Ingolstadt, where they will be met with a reception at the Alte Rathaus. At the end of the three-week Summer School, participants will get a certificate.
