Top position in CHE ranking for KU Master's program in Psychology

A new ranking by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE) confirms that the KU Master's program in Psychology is in the top group nationwide. CHE writes: "The conditions for studying psychology at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt are rated very positively: The Master's students are very satisfied with the general study situation, the supervision, the support during their studies, the courses on offer and the academic focus. In addition, the subject is also in the top group in terms of citations per publication." According to CHE, their university ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed in the German-speaking world covering around 40 subjects. The student opinions for part of the range of subjects are reassessed every year. Now, the subjects of psychology and engineering have been re-examined. Three years ago, the KU Master's program in Psychology was already in the top group.

Among other things, the Master's students assess the "general study situation", the "course offerings" and the "study organization". There are also categories such as "support from teaching staff", "support during studies" as well as library facilities, IT infrastructure and career guidance services. In all of these areas, the KU Master's program in Psychology is among the leaders in the students' opinion. The same applies to the scientific relevance section. This is an indicator of the extent to which the Master's program at universities offers the opportunity to deepen scientific work and come into contact with important and innovative research results.

Looking at the detailed evaluation, the KU’s Master's program stands out in terms of the range of courses offered, particularly due to the variety of specializations and the coordination of course content. In addition, respondents praised the quality of the study organization, for example with regard to the fact that courses were not overlapping, the size of the courses and the social atmosphere between students and lecturers. Students at the KU also rate the help with the transition to a career and initiatives to promote career entry as very good and thus significantly better than their fellow students at other universities.

The student magazine ZEIT CAMPUS publishes a selection of the results. The current issue 1/23 with the ranking results for engineering sciences will be available in stores from November 22, 2022. In the following issue 2/23 in February 2023, results for Psychology will be presented.
