Chair of Modern and Contemporary History

The subject "Modern and Contemporary History" at the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt

The Chair of Modern and Contemporary History at the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt focuses on research into the period from around the French Revolution to the present day. Within this era, our particular research priorities and areas of interest lie in the history of international relations, international history, and modern intellectual and cultural history. Geographically, the focus is on German history as well as European history, including its non-European and global connections.

Modern and Contemporary History can be studied at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt as part of Bachelor's, Master's, and teacher training programs. The entire spectrum of the subject is reflected in our teaching practice. We offer seminars and lectures on German history from the 19th to the 21st century, as well as on cultural and media history, the history of foreign relations, and aspects of modern global history.

There will be no appointments during the lecture-free period.
