Eligible to apply are international full-time students (degree-seeking students) at KU who are in the final phase of their studies and whose graduation is expected within the next 12 months.

Not eligible to apply are:

• Exchange students
• Students in double degree Programs
• Free movers
• Educational residents ("Bildungsinländer/-innen")

• EUR 375.00 per month for a maximum of 6 months (October 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027)
• Total funding: up to EUR 2,250

• Advanced stage of studies with a realistic prospect of graduation within 12 months
• Good academic performance (minimum GPA: 2.3 according to the German grading system)
• Residence in Germany during the entire funding period

Selection is based on the following criteria:

• Academic performance (GPA and academic development)
• Study progress (in particular proximity to graduation and feasibility of the study plan)
• Financial need
• Additional engagement (if applicable)

Selection is based on the submitted application documents. 
In individual cases, a personal interview may be conducted.

• CV in tabular format (German or English)
• Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages, German or English)
• Study plan for the final phase
• Certificate of enrollment at the KU
• Transcript of Records from the KU
• Proof of financial need (declaration on honor) confirming that:
  • The annual gross income does not exceed EUR 15,000, and
  • No financial support is received from relatives or spouse
• Proof of voluntary engagement (if applicable)

Please name up to two instructors from your study program who may be contacted as references if necessary. We expect that you inform these persons in advance and obtain their consent.
KU reserves the right to request additional documents.
