Europass - The objective of Europass is "to help citizens communicate their skills and qualifications effectively when looking for a job or training". Europass proposes five documents that will make your skills and qualifications clearly and easily understandable in all of Europe.
The Europass is a must when applying to European institutions, as its standardized format ensures comparability among candidates. Its main advantage is that it offers a clear and well-structured inventory of all your experiences, positions, and skills. While it can be customized to some extent, it remains a practical and free tool. However, many employers, especially outside of European institutions, expect more flexible and personalized CV formats, often no longer than two pages. Additionally, for applications in certain countries, it's important to follow region-specific formats. If applying outside the EU, you may need to adapt your CV to meet local expectations.
You can find templates for CVs and cover letters, as well as more resources including video and intercultural tips, in our KU Career Center under "KU Infos – Links and Tips for KU students."
