Theresa Kors studied "Tourism and Sustainable Regional Development - Management and Geography" at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. In her master thesis she investigated the dynamics between destination and real estate market development in the alpine tourism resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Using assemblage thinking, she devoted herself to the formation process of short-term rentals.
As a research assistant she is involved in the research project "Sustainable tourism and regional development in Garmisch-Partenkirchen between tourism, leisure-oriented migration and the real estate market", which is funded by the Bavarian Center for Tourism. She is investigating the changes in the relationship between tourism, other leisure-oriented forms of mobility of people and capital, and its consequences for sustainable tourism development outside metropolitan destinations.
