After my studies at the TU Darmstadt, I started my PhD in 2008 as a research assistant and soon after as a scholarship holder of an International Research Training Group in the field of mathematical fluid mechanics. From 2013, I was employed at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg and I did my habilitation in 2019. Since October 2022, I am a lecturer at the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

My current main research area is mathematical analysis and numerics of partial differential equation systems, in particular from the fields of fluid mechanics and porous media. Currently, I am investigating, among other things, degenerate nonlinear differential equations of homogenized multiscale models for structure-changing processes in microstructures by using weighted function spaces. Thereby, I focus on the changes in hydrodynamic properties, which significantly affect the effective flow and reactive transport models.
