The main focus of teaching and the research activities of the Chair of Philosophy of Education and Educational Theory is on the philosophical and ethical foundations of educational institutions and pedagogical action.

Our teaching and research address the following issues:

• Profiling educational philosophy as a branch of philosophy and at the same time as an educational discipline
• Basic concepts of educational research from a philosophical-analytical perspective
• Epistemological foundations of educational research
• Normative and ethical questions in the context of pedagogical action and educational policy
• The concept of education in German idealism
• Education theory in the context of analytical philosophy
• Political philosophy and philosophy of education
