The doctoral training group was conceived by the participating universities as an interdisciplinary forum in which early-career researchers can explore current and classic issues of value orientation and value formation within their complex scientific, political, social, and personal contexts as part of a thesis submitted for/towards a degree. The aim is to provide these early-career researchers with an environment—academic, financial, and intellectual—that enables a comprehensive and in-depth examination of their respective research topics.
