Workshop and Networking Day | July 5, 2022, in Eichstätt

The Young Researchers Day 2022 finally took place again on site after two digital events. Around 80 young researchers took this opportunity to gain knowledge, exchange experiences and connect with each other. This year’s event focused on the topic "Networking, Mobility and Career".

After the welcome by Prof. Dr. Jens Hogreve, Vice President for Research, Dr. Nicolai Netz, Junior Research Group Leader at DZHW, gave an introducing keynote speech with an overview of his research on "International Mobility".

Participants were invited to deepen the impulses from the lecture in various short hands-on workshop sessions.

The topics of the day were taken up again in a peer-to peer closing session, with Dr. Nathalie Aghoro, Assistant Professor of American Studies, Michael Graßl, Doctoral Candidate in Journalism, Johanna Jetschni, Doctoral Candidate in Landscape Ecology, Christina Langer, Doctoral Candidate in Economics, Dr. Robert Steinhauser, Assistant Professor of General Psychology.  Special thanks also go to Katharina Hartinger, Doctoral Candidate in Economics, for her entertaining moderation. The interactive fishbowl format gave everyone the opportunity to spontaneously participate in the discussion, ask questions or share their input.

In advance, all KU Doctoral Candidates and Postdocs were invited to participate in the Young Researchers Poster Exhibition and to present their research project in a concise and instructive way on scientific posters. The Young Researchers Day’s participants also had the opportunity to vote for the audience award for the best poster among the 34 contributions.
