New publication of handbook on refugee research with contribution by Lea Gelardi and Karin Scherschel

In June, the handbook titled "Flucht- und Flüchtlingsforschung - Handbuch für Wissenschaft und Studium" on the topic of refugee research was published with an article by Lea Gelardi and Karin Scherschel dedicated to the sociological perspective on research on flight and refugees.

The handbook is the first German-language work that not only takes a look at various research approaches or methods, but also critically discusses numerous terminologies and key topics from refugee research. The handbook offers researchers and teachers as well as students and practitioners an interesting insight into current scientific debates on a variety of topics, such as "integration", "traumatization" and "admission procedures". You can find a detailed description of the manual here.

In their contribution "Sociology", Lea Gelardi and Karin Scherschel first show how sociological research on flight can be distinguished from sociological research on migration and then go on to highlight the advantages of a sociological perspective for understanding the multiple dimensions of flight processes.

KU members can access the entire handbook via the Catalog of the University Library (OPAC).
