The Center for Flight and Migration (ZFM) is an interdisciplinary institution for research and education at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. It deals with global and regional migration processes as a phenomenon that has become the norm within our society with the aim to contribute to a sustainable, just, responsible and solidary society.
Researchers from various disciplines of both the humanities and social sciences work together at the ZFM to expand scientific knowledge about the diverse and complex issues of flight and migration research and to convey this knowledge in the form of educational opportunities. The ZFM aims at the academic exchange with other scientists and at the dialogue with local and national actors of civil society and politics.
The portfolio of the ZFM includes various research projects and educational formats. The research profile is divided into three fields: civic engagement, values and publicity in the migration society and causes and effects of the phenomenon of flight. These areas reflect both the regional and the (inter-)national orientation of the ZFM within their research perspectives.
