The Center for Flight and Migration develops profile-building programs and educational formats with a focus on flight and migration. Within this field the master's program "flight, migration, society" is a central element, while the Center offers individual (teaching) events aimed at a broad audience, too. Thus, most courses are also selectable for students in the Studium.Pro program. As a result students and professionals can further their education in a targeted manner. The ZFM also supports and accompanies prospective refugee students and researchers.
The ZFM sees education as self-education, in which processes of development and transformation of individuals take place in the sense of active, self-active and self-determined confrontation with oneself, others and the world. Education takes place as a process, triggered, among other things, by experiences of crisis and foreignness, especially when existing relationships to the self and the world are questioned and supposed certainties are shaken. With the different educational offers - especially because of their often crisis- and conflict-like constitution - the ZFM wants to aim at emancipation, empowerment, participation and autonomy.
