Conference "The future of family education - science meets practice": Review

On April 3, 2025, the ZFG hosted the conference “The Future of Family Education - Science Meets Practice” on the KU campus in Ingolstadt.

Together with people who coordinate and actively work in family education and experts from science, politics and administration, the conference focused on the following questions

  • What currently characterizes families and what challenges do families face?
  • How can family education respond quickly to current economic, political and social developments and provide the best possible answers?
  • How can family education reach families with a migration or refugee background even better?
  • How can family education programs be designed to be diversity-sensitive?
  • How can family education contribute to democracy education?

Another important point was the networking of the participating actors in the field of family education. As part of an ideas marketplace, where ten institutions presented themselves, the participants were able to exchange ideas and gain inspiration for their field of activity.
