The focus was on the fields of action that were identified on the basis of the survey results for the further development of family education in the city of Ingolstadt. In addition to increasing the level of awareness of family education services in general and the new family support centers set up in 2022 in particular, this also includes adapting family education services to the wishes of parents and including additional family groups. At present, families with a migration background, single parents and educationally disadvantaged families are not yet reached as well as the respective comparison groups. Suitable measures to better involve these groups in particular could include addressing these families personally in educational and childcare facilities or at events, as well as the increased implementation of low-threshold offers such as leisure activities and the provision of information in foreign languages.
Overall, family education in the city of Ingolstadt has developed positively since the last study in 2020: The services have become better known and are used more frequently. Family education and the family support centers are therefore an important support for Ingolstadt families.
The ZFG is delighted with the successful cooperation with the city of Ingolstadt and the associated transfer of scientific findings into practice.
