Letters of acceptance for the main admission process for enrollment in the following winter semester are typically made available online in early August; letters of acceptance for the waitlist process are available no earlier than early September. Please refer to your letter of acceptance for the exact enrollment dates.
If you accept the place in a degree program, you must complete enrollment within the deadline specified in the letter of acceptance; if necessary, an authorized representative may also complete enrollment on your behalf. The application for enrollment must be received by the Student Office (the mailing address is listed on the application) within the specified deadline, along with all required documents.
Please note that, depending on the examination regulations, proof of completion of practical vocational training or relevant practical work experience may be required for enrollment.
Practical training or internships must be completed before the start of your studies.
If enrollment is denied due to missing the enrollment period or the existence of obstacles to enrollment (e.g., missing or insufficient proof of the required practical training), the letter of acceptance becomes invalid.
Letters of rejections are made available online.
If places in degree programs are still available after the main admission process and any subsequent supplementary admission procedures have been completed, the University can allocate the remaining places by lottery. Information on which degree programs with limited admission still have available places can be found on the national study place exchange. Prospective students can then contact the Student Office via email at studierendenbuero@ku.de; please attach your high school diploma and a résumé.
