Adding another degree program

Enrollment in two degree programs at the KU

In order to enroll in two degree programs simultaneously, you must submit an application to add a degree program via the contact form; please select the category “Add a Degree Program/Major.”

The application for approval of adding a degree program must be submitted together with your enrollment or re-registration for the relevant semester.

If students who are enrolled in two degree programs wish to withdraw from a degree program, the application to withdraw from a degree program  must be submitted via the contact form; please select the category “Withdrawal from degree program/major.”

Studying two degree programs at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt is generally possible. However, enrollment requires the approval of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

Approval will only be granted if the student can sufficiently demonstrate that they are capable of properly pursuing the chosen degree programs and that they are aware of any consequences that may result from studying two degree programs at the same time. “Properly” means that the courses of both degree programs can be taken without scheduling conflicts and that no delay in the program structure is to be expected. Since any disadvantages that may arise, such as missing the registration deadline for an exam, are the student’s own responsibility, it is absolutely necessary to obtain detailed information on this matter before beginning study of two degree programs.

Enrollment in two degree programs with restricted admission is only permitted if there is also a special professional, academic, or artistic interest in pursuing both degree programs simultaneously.

If the new degree program to be added has restricted admission, prior application and admission are required before enrollment. Please note the respective application deadlines.

Similarly, the addition of degree programs or subjects that require an entrance examination is only possible after passing the entrance examination.

Studying two degree programs or an application to add an additional degree program is necessary, for example, if students are already enrolled in a Master’s program but still need to complete coursework and examinations for their Bachelor’s degree.

Simultaneous enrollment at the KU and another university

Pursuing two degree programs simultaneously at different German universities is possible if it is sufficiently demonstrated that the student is capable of properly pursuing the chosen degree programs. Simultaneous enrollment at multiple German universities for the same degree program is not permitted.

Prior to enrollment at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, approval for studying two degree programs simultaneously must be obtained from the primary university.

A confirmation from the primary university is sufficient.
