“It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn.” From Frankenstein by Mary Shelley—that is exactly what my studies at the KU are all about: discovering new secrets and learning new things.

German allows me to discover language and literature from new perspectives, while Geography shows how closely people, the environment, and society are interconnected. The combination of in-depth academic study, exciting field trips, and practical teacher training is what makes studying at the KU so special to me.

Teaching Geography

In the teaching degree program in Geography, students learn to understand and teach global, regional, and local connections between people and the environment. In addition to acquiring a foundation in the subject matter, they develop teaching skills and the ability to raise students’ awareness of current environmental and development issues.

Admission & application

This degree program has no admission restriction—you do not need to submit an application. Simply enroll directly through the KU university portal in August or September. If you earned your university entrance qualification abroad, please also submit your preliminary examination documentation by July 15—also through the same portal.

Campus Eichstätt

Eichstätt combines a Baroque old town with canoe trips on the Altmühl River, open-air movies in the summer, and festivals such as the Altstadtfest and the Lichternacht—here, everyday student life meets a genuine zest for life.

Accommodation and living

Finding a place to live is part of planning for uni – whether it’s a dorm, a shared apartment, or your own apartment. Anyone coming to Eichstätt or Ingolstadt to attend uni should start looking for housing early.

For the fourth time and once again in first place: Students have voted the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt the most popular university in Germany for 2026 on Studycheck.de.
