Our fields of study

From business & economics and teacher training to psychology, theology, and music, all the way to interdisciplinary programs — the KU’s academic offer is grouped into ten fields of study, allowing prospective students to quickly find what matches their interests. The entire list of all degree programs — which can be filtered by degree type and start date— is available here.

Interdisciplinary programs

Can't find a subject that has it all for you? That's exactly why the KU offers interdisciplinary Bachelor's and Master's programs. In them, students combine disciplines based on their own interests — from culture and media to classical studies, all the way to a flexible profile that can be tailored entirely to their own areas of focus.

Teacher training programs

Being a teacher — one of the most important professions of our time. At the KU, students can pursue teacher training for elementary schools and all types of secondary schools (Mittelschule, Realschule, Gymnasium). The KU is one of the few universities in Bavaria that offers ethics as a main subject in its teacher training programs.

Mathematics & Data Science

Algorithms rule the world. Those who understand them help shape it. From Mathematics and Data Science to Digital and Data-Driven Business — the degree programs at the KU combine mathematical depth with practical application in an increasingly data-driven world.

Music & arts

Creativity requires reflection. Art requires context. At the KU, students combine artistic practice with academic inquiry — in degree programs ranging from Musicology and Music Education to Art History and Inclusive Music Education.

Sustainability

Geography, transformation, economic responsibility — sustainability is not a niche topic, but the central challenge of our time. The degree programs at the KU empower students to question the status quo and actively work toward solutions.

Politics & Society

Democracy under pressure. Global conflicts. Social division. Anyone who wants to understand and change the world needs analytical depth. The interdisciplinary degree programs at the KU provide students with skills in political science and social science — ranging from national politics to international relations.

Psychology & social programs

Understanding people, shaping society. From psychology and clinical psychology to social work and nursing — the degree programs at the KU provide students with a solid academic foundation and practical skills for responsible action in the social sector.

Language & culture

Language is power. Culture is identity. The language and cultural degree programs at the KU combine literature, intercultural communication, and linguistic analysis — and open doors to careers in journalism, advertising, education, and international fields.

Theology

Faith, ethics, interreligious dialog — theology asks the questions that society and science cannot answer on their own. At the KU, students connect theological tradition with today’s social challenges.

Business & economics

The world is changing. So is the business world. From management and finance to marketing and business psychology — at the AACSB-accredited Ingolstadt School of Management (WFI), students gain solid business skills with a focus on sustainability and social responsibility.
