With Kanopy, the on-demand video streaming platform for educational institutions and libraries, the University Library offers you access to more than 18,000 films, documentaries, series and educational videos in a wide range of topics and subject areas, mainly in English.

Kanopy works directly with filmmakers and film distributors to provide high quality material from professional content partners around the world such as the Media Education Foundation, PBS and the BBC.

Lecturers have the opportunity to use videos in their courses. Films are becoming increasingly important as a scientific source and are important teaching and research objects, particularly in the field of humanities and cultural studies. For convenient use and embedding of multimedia material, Kanopy offers additional tools and functions such as easy citation options, custom playlists, personalization options or, for selected titles, the complete transcript of the film.
