Cloakroom lockers in the library
To store jackets, bags and other items that are not allowed to be taken into the reading rooms*, there are cloakroom lockers available in the entrance areas of the library locations for safe storage.
You may, of course, bring your work materials, laptops or your own books into the library. Please use transparent bags or backpacks to carry them. You are welcome to purchase appropriate bags from us.
Electronic locking system

In the Main Library, the Departmental Library Aula and the Ingolstadt Branch Library, you can easily use the cloakroom lockers with your KU.Card or your library ID with a green line. To lock and open the lockers, hold your card up to the lock of the locker and press the button in.
Important: In order to use your card, a one-time activation on the validation device ("Info Terminal") is required. You will find the device in the foyer of the Main Libray on the left near the entrance/room 030. It also displays the number of your currently used locker by holding up your card – should you ever forget the number.
Lockers can only be occupied during the opening hours of the building. Lockers that are not emptied are locked overnight and can only be unlocked again by staff.
At the Ingolstadt Branch Library, a limited number of long-term lockers are also available for the preparation of qualification theses such as Bachelor's or Master's theses. Please contact us.
In case of disruptions or closures, please contact the library staff.
Coin-operated lockers

In the Departmental Libraries Ulmer Hof and Hofgarten there are checkroom lockers available, which can be locked with a 1 or 2 Euro coin. The coin will be returned to you after use.
Please note that
- perishable food or dangerous items may not be deposited in the lockers.
- the University Library and the University are not liable for items deposited in the lockers.
- the lockers must be cleared daily – long-term occupancy is not permitted!

*According to § IV (1) of the Hausordnung of the University Library, bags, backpacks, briefcases, suitcases or similar objects, umbrellas and coats, anoraks and similar articles of clothing are not permitted inside the reading room.
