Classical philology focuses on the literature of Greek and Roman antiquity, i.e. from the Homeric epics to the beginning of the Middle Ages. This core subject is supplemented in Eichstätt by medieval and early modern Latin literature on the one hand and the didactics of classical languages on the other.

In Eichstätt, students have the possibility to study Classical Philology in various degree programs: in combination with other subjects in the teaching degree program or in the interdisciplinary Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at our University.
