The article „The assembly line feeding problem: An extended formulation with multiple line feeding policies and a case study” has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Production Economics.
This work is based on a master thesis by Steffen Hage and was developed in cooperation with an established automotive company. It shows how efficient planning of line feeding policies can significantly reduce costs. For doing so, a mixed-integer linear program was developed and implemented as a decision support tool. The resulting article is joined work with Reinhard Baller (WHU), Steffen Hage (TUM), and Stefan Spinler (WHU).
