University Council

The University Council at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt consists of eight external and eight internal members. The external members to the council represent the different areas in society (science, culture, economy, church and professional practice) and are appointed by the chairperson of the Foundation Council in line with recommendations issued by the Presidium and Senate. The internal members are elected to the council from among the group of University members. The University Council decides, amongst others, on changes to the Basic Rules, on the University’s development plan and updates to the plan and decides on the establishment, amendments or discontinuation of degree programs, institutions, research institutes and central facilities at the University. The composition and tasks of the University Council are stipulated in the Basic Rules (Section 16), the rules of procedure for this committee.
