Inclusion officers

Since January 01, 2018, the former representatives appointed by the employer(s) called "employer representatives" are called "inclusion officers" (verbatim according to the law Section 181 SGB IX: „Inklusionsbeauftragter des Arbeitgebers“, German social security code).

Employers are required by law to appoint an inclusion officer to represent them responsibly in matters relating to severely disabled persons. This applies to all companies and departments where severely disabled persons or persons with equal status are employed; regardless of whether or not there is a representative body for severely disabled persons.

In particular, this person shall be responsible for ensuring that the University complies with its legal obligations to protect and promote severely disabled persons. Like the representative body for severely disabled employees, they must be given the opportunity to comment on every matter that affects or could affect the interests of severely disabled employees before a resolution is passed.
