Departmental Library 3 "Hofgarten", Historical Collections

Sixty years after its opening, the Hofgarten Library building is set to undergo renovation, starting in 2026. The work will primarily involve upgrades to fire safety and building services to ensure the preservation and long-term protection of the Historical Collections.

To enable the work to be carried out quickly and with minimal disruption, the building must be completely cleared. Relocation of the collections will begin in October 2025. There will be no access to the collections and no services will be available during the relocation work, which is expected to last until the end of December. Details about services from January 2026 onwards will be announced in due course.

The Digital Collections will continue to be available around the clock.
