Starting April 13, 2026, extended opening hours will once again be in effect at all University Libraries:

Over the coming weeks, the direct footpath between the interim building and the Main Library will be temporarily closed due to construction work. Access to the Main Library via the main entrance will remain available, a detour footpath will lead around the construction site.

Due to construction work in the open-plan office of the Ingolstadt branch library, the lounge and group study room are unavailable for use. In addition, there may be occasional construction noise.

To access licensed electronic media from the University Library via a VPN connection, KU members will need a new VPN certificate from February 1, which will be provided by the University Computer Center.

Due to demolition work in the basement, there will be increased construction noise over the next few days.

If necessary, please use our departmental libraries or visit us during the quieter evening hours.

Sixty years after its opening, the Hofgarten Library building will undergo renovation starting in 2026. This will primarily involve fire safety and building services upgrades to ensure the preservation and long-term protection of the historical collections.
