The Bloomberg Terminal is computer software from Bloomberg L.P. that enables access to a database of real-time rates and historical time series, from stock markets, foreign exchange markets, commodity markets and fixed income markets, as well as fundamental data, news and research information on companies, industries and markets.

The offer of the Bloomberg Terminal, which is available to all students free of charge, includes, on the one hand, the support of scientific work by providing specific, otherwise not freely available, data that can also be exported to Excel or R.

On the other hand, there is the possibility of completing the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC), which teaches basic skills in the areas of Economic Indicators, Currencies, Fixed Income and Equities in an eight-hour online self-study course. After successfully completing it, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. Videos and webinars from Bloomberg for Education offer opportunities to deepen your knowledge while practising the use of the terminal.

The Bloomberg Terminal is located in the basement of the Library in Ingolstadt.

Reservation is mandatory for the use of the Bloomberg Terminal. To do so, log in to ILIAS and search for "Reservation Bloomberg Terminal". There you can reserve the Bloomberg Terminal for the period in which you would like to work with it. Information on how to create an account or how to register for the BMC can be found directly at the Bloomberg Terminal in the library.

Note: As of 1.7.2022, remote access to the Bloomberg terminal is no longer possible. Please use the stationary terminal on the upper floor of the library in Ingolstadt. Also, please do not forget to register in the ILIAS reservation tool before using the terminal.
