Stefanie Zecha

Stefanie Zecha initially majored in Geography and Primary Education, with minors in Population Science, Historic Building Research and Hispanic Studies at the University of Bamberg (Germany); and an Erasmus Year in Coimbra (Portugal). She has also a state exam (German licensing examination) in Psychology, with special focus on School Psychology. As part of her studies, she took a first state exam to be a guidance counsellor and also gained Secondary School teaching experience at the Gabrieli Gymnasium, Eichstätt. She also worked for two years as a lecturer at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen.

She wrote her PHD thesis on the treatment of Europe in Portuguese educational texts. Her Postdoc thesis was on the environmental consciousness of Spanish and German teenagers.

Stefanie Zecha’s research interests include geodiversity teaching with a focus on Nationale Geoparks and digital media. She has a further interest in textbook and curriculum research on the topics of natural catastrophes and in the consequences of climate change.
