Announcement: Guest Lectures Yoel Mansfeld, PhD

The Chair of Tourism / Center for Entrepreneurship proudly welcomes Yoel Mansfeld at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Yoel Mansfeld is one of the most cited researchers on tourism and Professor at the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, University of Haifa, Israel. He is also the founder and the Head of the University of Haifa´s Centre for Tourism, Pilgrimage & Recreation Research (CCTRR).

His main areas of academic interests include:

·      Cultural tourism and heritage tourism

·      Religious tourism

·      Community-based tourism

·      Sustainable tourism and environmental management

·      Tourism planning and development

·      Tourism and consumer behavior

·      Tourism, security and safety issues

·      Tourism and crisis management

In line with the current discussions in tourism, he is known for the “Value Stretch Model”. So discourses during his stay will also link towards a comparative analysis of limits for acceptable change among rural vs. small urban communities. Besides there will be discussions of implementing Service Networks as an option to enhance tourism profitability and reduce socio-cultural carrying capacity thresholds.
