Prof. Dr. Jens Temmen has been the new Chair of American Studies at KU since the summer semester of 2025. The cultural and literary scholar brings extensive research experience from both Germany and abroad, as well as specializations in astroculture and U.S. imperialism, to Eichstätt. At the same time, Temmen emphasizes: “American Studies is not a USA fan club.” With this, he makes clear what his reasearch and teaching are all about: a critial examination of US-American history, culture, and the present.
