Schanzer Pluspunkt

Fördermitglieder

Projektlaufzeit: Seit Oktober 2020

About project

The main goal of the project:

Implementation of the quality assessment of medical rehabilitation by standardizing the patient's functional assessment using the International Classification of Disability and Health Functioning (ICF). As part of the project, functional assessment standards will be developed that will allow for a unified description of patients (category profile) who benefit from both in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation.

The standards developed and implemented will allow for the introduction of a uniform patient support planning system (intervention card).

The assessment of the effectiveness of planned support (post-rehabilitation assessment card) will allow for a comprehensive assessment of the quality and effectiveness of support provided both at the level of a specific person and the hospital as well as all participants of the rehabilitation process.

The comprehensive implementation of this solution will allow you to assess the effectiveness of spending public funds and rationally plan preventive measures and activities related to patient care. The developed standards for assessing the effectiveness of rehabilitation activities will be implemented into practice (ICF system), which is tantamount to the obligation of medicinal entities conducting rehabilitation financed from the NFZ funds to report in accordance with the developed standards.

Partners

Caritas, Diakonie, Politische und kirchliche Träger.

Project objectives

Transnational Partners

University Witten-Herdecke, Herdecke, Germany; Albert-Ludwig University, Freiburg, Germany; Cardinal Wyszyński University, Poland.

Project objectives

The project focuses on empirical analyses of specific aspects of spirituality and life satisfaction in persons with Down Syndrome. However, we do not know much about the dimensions of importance in the life of persons with DS and their underlying spirituality. One reason might be that researchers may consider that these issues a require high level of cognitive intelligence, because spirituality/religiosity is mostly regarded as a matter of cognitive understanding of theoretical doctrines, belief issues, and construction of meaning systems, etc.. Our research is intended to identify emotional and behavioral aspects of spirituality that might be of importance to them.

We aimed to address (1) which aspects of spirituality (operationalized as connectedness with and turning to others, conscious awareness, feelings of gratitude and awe, and also religious issues) are of relevance for persons with DS, (2) putative differences with respect to gender, and (3) associations with life satisfaction and parental status (living with or without their parents).

University  Witten/Herdecke, Herdecke, Germany; FOM,  München, Germany; Sacro Cuore, Italy; Pontifical Council for Health Care Workers and for Health Pastoral Care, Vatican; Kardynał Wyszyński Uniwersytet, Poland; Pedagogical University of Cracow, Poland.

Project objectives

This project is interested to investigate which needs are of relevance at all, and how these needs are related to life satisfaction and coping resources of elderly and their caregivers. We try to be clear, if the specific needs could be predicted by religious and spiritual aspects. Spirituality/religiosity is recognized as a resource to cope with burdening life events, chronic illness and search for meaning in elderly.  This study aims at exploring the positive effect of spirituality on quality of life for elder people and their caregivers. It indicates that this provides specific form of coping, may be beneficial to maintaining self-esteem, providing a sense of meaning and purpose, giving emotional comfort and providing a sense of hope for elderly and their caregivers.

The second point of the research focuses on religiosity and spirituality in connection to work and life satisfaction of staff and informal caregivers, being in charge of elderly working in different health care settings.

Project objectives

In this research, it will be a reexamined work and life satisfaction, as well as mental health and caring for others, to identify factors that emerged when pastoral and other employees in churches proof the roles and goals of their religious and spiritual resources. Traditionally, spirituality/religiosity are associated in daily life to work and life satisfaction, as well as to gain leadership effectiveness. There has also been considerable antagonism in these fields – some of the pastoral staff experiences disengagement and spiritual dryness. The question is, if problems of stress, burnout and work holism in pastoral work can or not be solved through spirituality with a beneficial consequence for the well-being of pastoral employees.

Funding Scheme

Various Private Sources

Period covered

July 2016 – in progress

Transnational Partners

Private Universität Witten/Herdecke, Germany; Sacro Cuore, Italy, Kardynał Wyszyński Uniwersytet, Poland; Loyola University, USA.

Project objectives

The main question is if, social pedagogy and/or social work education needs to focus more attention on both the importance of spiritual and religious beliefs in the lives of many service users and on the potential usefulness of religious and spiritual interventions, on organizational work and processes/institutional development.

A.   Including Spirituality/Mindfulness and Religion into Social Work Practice

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of spiritual/religious  aspects and their interactions with biopsychosocial symptoms on social care, social work, health care  and their impact on use of services, and life satisfaction among primary clients; development of the concept for spiritual assessment.

B.   Spirituality/Mindfulness and Religion in Governmental and Non -governmental Social Service Agencies

Religion and spirituality/mindfulness social workers are often not sure if it is helpful to bring religion/spirituality into the helping process, even if clients mention their faith orientation, because of concern of the separation of church and state other circumstances. It will be proof if there is necessity to develop new organizational and conceptual strategies. In Christian agencies, there is an expectation by the leadership and clients that a Christian framework will be used in the work and therapy process.

C.   Professional capability framework and career adaptability

Based on career construction theory, the research examined individual and contextual predictors for the professional competence. Capabilities present that there will be understanding in conjunction with diagnostically important factors to help identify strengths and areas for development of social workers. Applying career construction theory, this study develops a research model that investigates whether career adaptability mediates the effect of work social support on career satisfaction when moderates with spirituality.

D.   Metaanalyses

Exploring the role and significance of spirituality in social work our project brings a review of the recent literature on spiritually-sensitive social pedagogy/work and also should provide systematic reflection of subject and reveal the discussion focused on specific intervention techniques, models and possibilities for practice.

Forschungsvorhaben
