Closing Conference of the ABIS-Yale Practical Wisdom Initiative

The closing conference of the ABIS-Yale Practical Wisdom Initiative at Yale, background and starting point of our research project, has most successfully taken place. In order to synthesize, compare, and praise the insights, results, and ideas of the initiative at a major global culminating event world renowned leaders, philosophers, economists, business executives, and managerial scholars came together to engage in reflection and dialogue as the culmination of the series of events on various religious and philosophical traditions in management which have taken place over the past three years. (For more information, please click here.) Prof. André Habisch himself was lecturer and part of a panel on the conference. Therefore, he had not only the opportunity of presenting and making public our project but also of giving an impressive statement regarding the importance and the meaningful possibilities of practical wisdom for responsible management as well as the need for a carefully conducted search for inherent spiritual traditions. Quoting Prof. Habisch’s conclusion: “We should bring Spirituality and Practical Wisdom back to the public sphere – and to the classroom of high-schools, professional schools, and business schools.”
