Integrative Logistics Planning in Grocery Retailing

As direct-store-deliveries in grocery retailing generally are reduced an internal supply network can be divided into the three dependant subsystems warehousing, transportation and instore-logistics. In traditional planning approaches the shop itself usually played a minor role. In fact the operating expense in the outlets often is higher than in the upstream activities. In the research project the problems of integrating instore activities are addressed and an integrative approach will be developed.
