This course investigates how economic reasoning can illuminate the twin challenges of climate change and sustainable development. Beginning with the concept of natural capital and the costs of environmental degradation, we examine why climate dynamics and pollution patterns demand urgent attention from economists, businesses, and policy-makers alike. Building on this foundation, we study the economics of climate impacts and adaptation, with dedicated modules on urban resilience and the particular vulnerabilities of developing economies.
