The Chair of Service Management at the Frontiers in Service Conference 2026 in Helsinki

Last week, Jannes Marquardt and Dr. Marah Blaurock attended and contributed to the Frontiers in Service Conference 2026 in Helsinki, Finland.

We were delighted to participate in the Frontiers of Service Conference, where our team followed and contributed to interesting discussions and shared current research insights.

Two scientific presentations highlighted our research contributions:

  • “Pathways to Servitization Excellence: Identifying Value Drivers and Strategic Gateways for Service Transformation in Product-centric B2B Markets” presented by Marah Blaurock and Andrea Hanisch. The project was develop in joint collaboration with the Department of Go-to-Market Strategy of the Robert Bosch GmbH including Andrea Hanisch, Kristian Döscher, Karin Laupheimer and the Chair of Service Management including Jens Hogreve, Jannes Marquardt and Marah Blaurock.
  • “Virtual Reality in Innovation Communication: The Value of Multisensory Experiences in Supporting Key Enabling Technologies”
presented by Jannes Marquardt. The paper is co-authored and supervised by Jens Hogreve and Dominik Mahr from Maastricht University.

In addition, we contributed to the conference with a a pre-conference workshop titled “Introduction and Paper Development for the JoSM Special Issue: Reimagining the Service-Profit Chain”, conducted by Ilias Danatzis, Kris Lindsey-Hall, and Marah Blaurock. The workshop, organized in preparation for the special issue also co-edited by Jens Hogreve and Joy Fields, brought together researchers interested in contributing to the special issue for joint development of proposals and ideas.

A special highlight was the recognition of Jannes Marquardt, who received the Liam Glynn Travel Scholarship Award for his PhD thesis proposal, awarded by the Doctoral Consortium Committee. We are very proud of this achievement and his valuable contributions to advancing research in the service field.

The conference provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and strengthening connections within the global service research community.
