Student engagement and initiatives for sustainable development both within and outside the University play a key role in initiating and advancing the KU’s transformation into a sustainable University. Examples include events such as Human Rights Day, the Environmental Lecture Series, the clothes swap party, Culture Kitchen, and Sustainability Week, which is organized annually by several initiatives working together. This engagement enables students to learn important aspects of actively shaping society and the word we live in. Thanks in part to this extraordinary student engagement, the KU is one of the pioneering universities in the field of the Whole Institution Approach to sustainable development.
