Strategic fund for gender equity measures

As part of funding from the Professorinnenprogramm III, a strategic fund of the University Management and the Women and Equal Opportunity Officer is now available to support equity measures at the KU.

A total of 7,500 euros per year is available for the implementation of such measures. The measures aim to develop innovative and sustainable projects to promote equality.

What might be the focus of my project?

Projects might focus on one of the following areas:

  •     Gender-sensitive communication culture at the KU,
  •     Gender and diversity competence for (early-career) women researchers or for research support staff,
  •     Teaching gender-theory,
  •     Contribution to the monitoring or analysis of gender ratios at the KU.

Example measures

Concrete measures might be:

  •     the organization of a lecture series, a workshop a panel discussion, a (digital) exhibition,
  •     the creation of a forum for networking among (early-career) women researchers or research support staff,
  •     the realization of particularly successful gender-sensitive lectures, and much more.

How to apply?

The project should be presented in an application (approx. two pages) and must also be accompanied by a time and cost schedule.

 
Eligible to apply are:

  •     Individuals or teams (KU employees).
  •     Institutions of the University
  •     Student initiatives

As a rule, the budget available each year is to be distributed among more than one project. The use of the funds is earmarked.

No later than two months after completion of the measure, a final report of approximately one to two pages is to be sent to the KU Women and Equal Opportunity Officer.

Award criteria

The Women and Equal Opportunity Officer of the KU compiles a ranking from the applications received and submits the document to the University Management for decision.

Criteria for the quality of applications are:

  1. relevance for gender equality
  2. innovativeness and originality
  3. possibility of realization and need orientation
  4. sustainability or long-term effect

 

Rules for financing your project

  •  You will only be reimbursed for costs arisen as part of this project if you can present proof (invoices).
  •  Hospitality costs cannot be reimbursed.
  •  Funding is disbursed via the KU's third-party funding department, to which you have to submit the award letter for your project (Förderbescheid).

Final report

  • Lenght: one to two pages no later than two months after completion of the project.
  •     Mention of the names of the initiators and their connection to the University (department, faculty, institution)
  •     Brief summary of the evaluation results on the achievement of objectives
  •     Overview of the amount of approved funding for the project and the actual expenses incurred in tabular form
  •     Evidence/documents on the use of the funds
